The Lambda School Backend Program Opportunity Scholarship was created to make careers in tech more financially accessible for aspiring software engineers. Lambda School is providing $250,000 in scholarships to advance equitable pathways to technical careers.
This scholarship is applicable to the Enterprise Backend Development program only and cannot be applied to any other Lambda School program. You can see the full terms and conditions here.

About the Scholarship
Lambda School was founded on the belief that while potential is evenly distributed across society, opportunity is not. Since we started in 2017, our mission has been to close the gap between potential and opportunity by removing barriers that stand in the way of a better education, a better career, and a higher income.
This scholarship program is another way for Lambda School to invest in future tech talent to meet the demands of a rapidly growing industry.

Backend Scholarship Eligibility
You need to be enrolled in the Backend Development course before being eligible for a scholarship. Before you apply for the scholarship, please read the terms and conditions to get the full list of requirements. Here are some of them:
Apply during the scholarship application period
Be 18 years of age or older by September 27, 2021
Have a high-school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Be enrolled in an Enterprise Backend Development cohort starting 9/27, 10/25
Have an Income Share Agreement (ISA) or Retail Installment Contract (RIC) for the Backend course

The number of scholarships available is limited and the selection process will be competitive, so we encourage all interested applicants to submit their materials as soon as possible. All materials must be submitted before 11:59PM Pacific on the application deadline.

What is the scholarship amount?
The Lambda School Backend Program Opportunity Scholarship provides up to $25,000 USD toward the ISA cap of the scholarship recipient(s) to attend Lambda School’s Backend Development Program. This scholarship is not applicable to any other Lambda School program.

Who is eligible?
In order to be eligible to apply for the Lambda School Backend Program Opportunity Scholarship, you must:
- Apply during the scholarship application period
- Be 18 years of age or older by September 27, 2021
- Have a high-school diploma or equivalent
- Be a United States citizen, permanent resident, DACA recipient and be able to provide United States work authorization
- Not be related by blood or marriage to any owner, director, officer, member, or employee of Lambda School
- Not be a student who is currently attending or who has signed an enrollment agreement or ISA for a Lambda School program
- Not be the recipient of another Lambda School scholarship with respect to the program you are currently applying to
- Apply during the scholarship application period
- Be 18 years of age or older by September 27, 2021
- Have a high-school diploma or equivalent
- Be a United States citizen, permanent resident, DACA recipient and be able to provide United States work authorization
- Not be related by blood or marriage to any owner, director, officer, member, or employee of Lambda School

Yes, you must be accepted and enrolled in a Backend course to be eligible for the scholarship.
Can I be a scholarship recipient if I choose to pay upfront?
No, the scholarship is only offered to students who choose an ISA or RIC as their tuition option.
