Prior to lambda I was on a mission to figure out who I was career-wise. I self-taught everything I knew. And at the time I knew HTML and CSS, and I'm thinking, "if I could find somebody to hold my hand, see what I can do, and put me in touch with their network of people, then perhaps I might stand a chance."

I kind of treated Lambda School like a job. I had to fool myself into thinking, look, if this was a paying job. Would I be so quick to just give up? Or because I'm getting a paycheck, I know myself, I would figure this out one way or another if it kills me. And that was my perspective on it.

I've been working with computers since I was 17. I didn't think it would amount to a career, or a good paying one at that. And that's essentially what happened. I succeeded in making a career out of a hobby that I've had since I was 17.

I was just really grateful that Lambda School believed in me and that they're teaching me and investing in me. I honestly thought this was handed down straight from heaven. Honest. This changed my whole life.

I can't tell you how good it feels that I can finally, finally take care of myself and my son. I can't tell you how great that feels.
